About Me
I am Dr. Geeta Arora, a Professor of Mathematics at Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab, India. I obtained my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India, in 2011. Over the years, I have been actively engaged in teaching, research, academic leadership, and mentoring, with a strong commitment to advancing mathematical sciences through innovative research and quality education.
My research interests encompass Numerical Analysis, Computational Mathematics, Scientific Computing, Differential Equations, Mathematical Modelling, Artificial Intelligence in Mathematical Computing, and Applied Statistics. My work primarily focuses on the development of efficient numerical algorithms for solving complex real-world problems arising in science and engineering.
I have published more than 100 Scopus-indexed research articles in leading national and international journals and have authored several books and over 30 book chapters with renowned academic publishers. I also serve as an editor for numerous edited volumes published by prestigious international publishing houses, including Elsevier, Apple Academic Press (Taylor & Francis), Cambridge University Press, IGI Global, BPB Publications, River Publishers, and De Gruyter.
Throughout my academic career, I have been privileged to supervise 10 Ph.D. scholars successfully and am currently guiding 7 doctoral researchers in diverse areas of computational and applied mathematics. Mentoring young researchers and fostering a collaborative research environment remain among my most rewarding professional responsibilities.
In addition to research and teaching, I actively organize and conduct international conferences, faculty development programmes, workshops, and training sessions on topics such as MATLAB, Numerical Methods, Statistics, Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, and Vedic Mathematics for students, researchers, and faculty members across academic institutions.
My research contributions have been recognised with the Research Appreciation Award from Lovely Professional University in 2017, 2019, and 2024. I continue to pursue interdisciplinary collaborations, research projects, and scholarly initiatives that bridge mathematics with emerging technologies, contributing to both academic excellence and societal impact.
As an educator and researcher, I firmly believe that mathematics is not merely a subject of abstract theory but a powerful language for innovation, scientific discovery, and solving real-world challenges. My vision is to inspire future mathematicians and researchers while advancing knowledge through impactful research, meaningful collaborations, and excellence in higher education.
